19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden trophy for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging year, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - caused him falling of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-time trainer Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently improved in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first title since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court since March of that year.
The win also means Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at 21 different competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my two daughters together, so to win a trophy is particularly special," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his past six title deciders, including in Halle in the past months.
His retrieving play style and regular reactions on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his capacity to play at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, winning 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, took control to push for a final set.
Moutet saved four early-game opportunities in a close final set before the Russian broke to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner clinched the win with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
