The legal representative, presenting evidence, described Ruben's offending to the judicial body.

She said his targets were under-privileged children who were staying at a summer camp which he managed.

Ruben played a "candy game" with the youngsters, Mrs Prior stated, in which he would access the boys' rooms when they were getting ready for bed and request they to eat sweets "rapidly".

She stated to the judge Ruben had conducted this practice with the boys "for many years", and minors had previously fallen ill the next day.

The legal representative added: "This year his stepson had concerns about the activities, with valid cause.

"They resolved" to have a look in the individual's items."

The prosecutor stated items including infant oil, petroleum jelly and medical needles were found, and his stepson contacted the police about his suspicions.

She said the defendant went on to play the "treat game" with six boys that night - July 26th - and they were everyone unwell the subsequent day.

"Authorities" had not gone out by that point," she continued.

The oversight body, the investigative body, previously told that it was examining law enforcement's management of the events.

Mrs Prior said the children were struggling to walk due to their condition, so the stepson contacted the police a second time.

She stated Ruben then played the "sweet game" in a space of five youngsters.
