Major Russian Assaults Cut Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and dealt with disruption to drinking water, as stated by city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has increased assaults on power infrastructure over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but firm measures - from the America, Europe and the G7 - in supplying air defence systems and applying sanctions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.

The attacks follow nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for more assaults.
