Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of heroes who will branch out from the main group to begin their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear mismatched, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—used the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their position as key figures in the powerful family could enable the party reach locations they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of Casimir.
What’s Next?
